Light Painting & Nighttime Long Exposures

May 4, 2024

Long exposure photography opens up a world of time bending possibilities. Light painting in long exposure photography involves using a handheld light source, such as a flashlight or LED, to illuminate specific areas of a scene while the camera's shutter is open for an extended period of time. By moving the light source strategically and creatively during the exposure, photographers can “paint” or “write” light onto the scene, creating unique and visually striking effects. This technique allows for the creation of vibrant streaks, shapes, and patterns and is especially effective at night. Learn this technique in a night workshop with photographer Patti Blake at the County Pier on Panama City Beach.

*For this workshop you will need your camera, a tripod and an LED flashlight.

Saturday night, 7:15 - 9:15pm, $50

Taught by Patti Blake
